A PENSIONER badly injured an accident at a Hampshire supermarket died from spinal injuries, it has emerged.
An inquest has been opened into the death of Doris Lush, who was hit by a car that ploughed into a cashpoint at the Morrisons store in Totton on July 12.
Mrs Lush, 86, of Park Road, Chandler’s Ford, was pronounced dead at Southampton General Hospital.
A 22-year-old woman, also from Chandler’s Ford, suffered what police have described as “life-changing injuries” in the incident.
The driver of the car, a 76-year-old woman from Totton, suffered minor injuries.
Winchester Coroner’s Court heard that Mrs Lush suffered an upper cervical spinal injury in the collision.
A full inquest is due to be held on December 3.
