A SUSPECTED drink-driver smashed a Range Rover into railings – less than 500 metres from a police station.
The crash happened around 7am yesterday (December 22) on Commercial Road in Totton, just a short distance from a Hampshire Police Roads Policing Unit base.
Police say the driver attempted to make it home while impaired, only to crash into railings.
Taking to Twitter, Hants Road Policing said: "Day shift started at 7am.
"First drink drive arrest at 7.06am, 500 yards from the Totton base.
"The driver of this Range Rover tried to make it home whilst impaired, however failed to negotiate some iron railings.
"A taxi would be better! #OpHolly #ItsNotWorthTheRisk."
