A SOUTHAMPTON man who shouted insulting words relating to a police officer's sexual orientation has been fined.
David Peter Graham Sheath admitted shouting abusive or insulting words towards an officer during an incident in Southampton on October 28 last year.
Southampton Magistrates' Court found the offence was motivated wholly or partly by hostility towards persons who are of a "particular sexual orientation".
Sheath, 28, of Testwood Road, Southampton, was fined £600 for the incident.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60.
