CIVIC chiefs are set to consider plans next month to tackle the amount of chewing being dropped on Winchester's streets.
Winchester City Council says it hopes to agree plans to install new gum recycling bins in April after discussions with company Gumdrop.
It would see special recycle bins installed in the city to encourage members of the public to throw away gum, rather than drop it. It would them be collected by the company and used to produce a number of sustainable products including reusable hot drinks cups.
Portfolio holder for environment Cllr Jan Warwick confirm quotes had been received by the city council and "final details are being agreed".
