THESE pictures were taken during a basketball match between Solent Schoolboys and King Edward VI School as both teams prepared for a tough challenge.
Eastleigh’s Fleming Park played host to the Solent Invitation Basketball Easter Festival title in 1983 – an intense four days of international competition.
Solent went into the under-17 tournament as defending champions, although only three of the previous year’s victorious squad remained.
The 12-team festival was competed in by four other English sides, as well as teams from Italy and Spain.
