THE Daily Echo takes another nostalgic trip through time - this week to June 1979.
These pictures were all taken that month and include carnivals, the opening of a new hair salon and Scouts with their pedal car.
One image depicts a charity pub crawl which took place in Eastleigh.
While all the events shown here were being attended locally, this is what was taking place nationally:
June 18
Neil Kinnock became shadow education spokesman. He was Labour MP for Islwyn in South Wales prior to this.
June 22
Jeremy Thorpe, former Liberal Party leader, was cleared in court of attempted murder. His career had, by this stage, already been ruined by the allegations.
