VOICE FM, Southampton’s community radio station, will send its soundwaves across the sand in Guildhall Square today (Friday) from 4pm.
As the YMCA takes over activities for the day at Seaside in the Square, VOICE FM will be showcasing the best of the city’s music talent.
Live sets from indie bands Calum Lintott, Costellos, Myriad and Pioneers, popster Klaudia Keziah, and urban acts Cam Keddy, Elzino and Melina Greene, G-Man, Jean and Nikos, KC, Riskology Radcliffe, Shannon B, Funkie and Zuby will be supported by VOICE FM DJs Wayne DJC, Club Night Live, and the Pure Klass DJs.
VOICE FM Station Manager Jake Balmer said “Its fantastic that we can put on a free event for the community, and showcase the best of our local music scene. All these artists have appeared on VOICE FM’s Homegrown hits, and got a great response, so putting them out at Seaside in the Square is a pleasure. There is such a lot of great music in Southampton that we can be really proud of.”
The music starts at 4.00pm with the bands at 6.00pm and urban acts at 8.00pm. Activities in the square start at 9.00am throught till 6.00pm.
