A COLLISION between two heavy vehicles was causing big delays on the northbound M3.
The vehicles were in collision close to the Junction 9 interchange at Winnall, Winchester.
The emergency services are all on the scene. It was not clear whether there were any injuries.
The incident at around 11am has caused long tailbacks reaching seven miles to Junction 12 at Eastleigh, said Highways England in a tweet. They were warning drivers to expect delays of at least 30 minutes
Nearby roads such as Spitfire Link and the A31 Petersfield Road were also heavily congested.
A fire service spokesman said: "We were called at 11.02am this morning to an RTC involving two lorries on the M3 northbound between junction’s nine and ten.
"Crews from Eastleigh and Winchester attended and released one male casualty from one of the vehicles and passed them into the care of SCAS. Further appliances were stood down as the scene was made safe by Hampshire Police. HFRS crews left the scene at 11:23am."
