POLICE have seized a haul of knives stashed outside a Hampshire supermarket.
A member of the public found six large kitchen knives in a bush just outside Aldi in Chandler's Ford
They were handed over to the supermarket manager who reported the find to police on Monday night.
The knives were then seized as a "matter of precaution" by PCSOs in the Eastleigh Neighbourhood Policing Team.
According to officers, the collection is not related to any ongoing criminal investigations in the area.
A police spokesperson said: "Please can we take this opportunity to remind residents about their personal safety.
"It is important to always keep your phone on you and report any behaviour that you believe to be suspicious or reason for concern.
"Try to stay in well-lit areas during the evening, travel with friends and tell people where you are going."
Residents should raise any safety concerns with the Police by calling 101 or by making a report to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
