PLANS for a new Hampshire community hospital are likely to be given the go-ahead today.
The proposals to build a multi-million pound unit at the former Coldeast site in Sarisbury Green, near Fareham top the agenda at Hampshire Primary Care Trust's board meeting.
The hospital would replace the Sylvan Clinic at the Coldeast site and Fareham's Hill Park physiotherapy clinic, and provide community and primary care, rehabilitation and various services for the elderly.
Members will examine the business case for the project, which would be built by Solent Community Solutions, a joint venture between the PCT and Partnerships for Health.
If the board approved the case, it will then go before regional health chiefs. If the plans do get the final go-ahead, it is hoped building work could start by March 2009.
