POLICE are tracking three youths who are believed to have stolen hundreds of pounds from a Southampton pensioner.

The 66-year-old victim was in her Laburnum Road house when she heard a noise downstairs.

When she went to investigate she found that £350 in cash was missing from her purse.

Three male youths were seen running away from the property and have been described as being between 13 and 16-years-old, wearing hooded tops and tracksuit trousers.

A police spokesman said: "It's believed the area would have been busy at the time, and a number of people may have seen the youths. It's possible that they may have been hanging around in the street prior to the incident."

The incident took place between 6.20pm and 6.35pm on Monday but details were only released by police today.
