TEAMWORK makes the dream work for clients at Focused Personal Training in Swaythling.

The 'original baby' of mum of two Megan Batchelor, who has another real baby due next month, the private bespoke personal training facility uses a rather different ethos to commercial gyms.

Megan is a former international powerlifter with European titles to her name who was dead lifting until the day before she gave birth to both her daughters, so she naturally specialises in strength work and is pre and post natal qualified. She also dabbles in running and kick boxing among other specialisms.

Megan's three personal trainer colleagues include a marathon runner and a trainer with a military background so their expertise lies in strength and conditioning, CrossFit, endurance training, calisthenics and military training.

It means they can help anyone with any fitness goal.

Megan told the Daily Echo: "Our unique selling point has always been that we're just that bit more personalised. It's all tailored to the individual and personal trainer led so one of our team of PTs will always be able to help.

"Most people want to feel and look better and we help them to get fitter and stronger by setting a programme that is going to make them stronger both physically and aesthetically.

"Because we all have different backgrounds and influences, we've got a really broad range of knowledge.

"A lot of PTs work as individuals, but we combine our abilities and that means we can open 6am to 9pm without burning out our staff because we cover all those hours between us as a team.

"There's nothing better than seeing someone getting back into exercise and regaining their confidence and independence. I love to see that and it gives me good vibes."

The Focused team work in small groups to achieve results and the capacity at their fitness facility, within the building affectionately known as the fag butt among locals, is currently capped at six.

Megan has a degree in Fitness and Personal Training and worked for David Lloyd Leisure and Winchester Tennis and Squash Club before going out on her own in January 2013, working with clients in their homes and local parks.

She opened her MGB Fitness studio in April 2015, rebranding it in the past year.
