A HAMPSHIRE man arrested in connection with a machete attack on Sugababe Amelle Berrabah's boyfriend has been released on police bail.

The 28-year-old man from Aldershot was arrested earlier today on suspicion of attempted murder.

Freddie Fuller, 25, was found lying in a pool of blood with serious injuries to his left arm and leg, which witnesses said were hanging by a thread, after the attack on Christmas Eve.

Former tree surgeon Mr Fuller, from Hammersmith, west London, and pop star Ms Berrabah were reportedly enjoying a night out with friends at Yates's Wine Lodge before the incident in Heathland Street, Aldershot, at around 9.15pm.

Mr Fuller underwent an emergency six-hour operation at Frimley Park Hospital, in Surrey, to save his limbs and Amelle, 23, was said to have spent Christmas Day by his bedside in intensive care.
