A FIRE onboard a boat at a Hampshire marina was sparked by an oven, rescue services have confirmed.
Firefighters raced to Hamble Marina last night following reports of a fire onboard a yacht.
Crews from Hamble and Hightown Fire Stations were on hand to tackle the blaze at around 6.30pm.
Meanwhile, the two owners of the yacht escaped unharmed.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Hamble and Hightown were deployed to the Hamble-Le-Rice shoreline at 6.31pm yesterday evening (16 August) to a small oven fire onboard a yacht berthed in Hamble Marina.
"Firefighters used a hose reel jet, one main jet and two sets of breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze.
"The two owners onboard escaped the vessel unharmed and were given boat safety advice by attending crews.
"HIWFRS left the scene following the stop message at 7.06pm."
