A Hampshire MP has been given a new role amid the Government's most recent reshuffle.
Eastleigh MP, Paul Holmes has been announced as the new Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Home Secretary, Priti Patel.
The Conservative MP, who was elected in Eastleigh at the 2019 general election said he was "delighted" with the promotion.
A PPS acts as an unpaid assistant to a government minister or to the Leader of the Opposition.
Speaking on his new role, Mr Holmes told the Echo: "My first priority is, and will always be, representing the people of Eastleigh in Parliament.
"However, I am delighted with my new role and I will use this position to raise specific local concerns to the very top of the Home Office.”
