EMERGENCY services rushed to a Hampshire marina yesterday following reports of a yacht fire.

Crews from Lymington Fire Station and Lymington RNLI were called to Berthon Marina yesterday at 12.31pm.

A 50ft yacht was ablaze and the deck was severely damaged by flames.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that the fire beneath the deck and at the head of the vessel was tackled using two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.

Both the Coastguard and RNLI were in attendance as a precaution, with firefighters leaving the scene at 1.32pm.
