COUNTLESS dazzling displays have illuminated Southampton skies this month, and Echo readers have named their two favourites!

We have been treated to fantastic fundraising displays, displays that give Winter Wonderland a run for its money, and light displays created in the name of Christmas cheer.

Without further ado, here are Southampton residents' favourite Christmas lights displays.

Sholing Winter Wonderland

Daily Echo:
The impressive Winter Wonderland display in Kathleen Road, created by software developer Andy Elsey, 51 and his wife Sheila, has wowed the Sholing community.

The pair have always been keen decorators when it comes to Christmas lights, and decided to use their efforts to fundraise for charity Abby's Heroes.

Daily Echo:

Speaking to the Echo earlier this month, Andy said: "Last year we came up with the idea of using the lights as a fundraiser as we were decorating our house anyway. We raised over £100 and this year, in the first weekend, we raised over £140.

"So we’ve raised that amount with something we would’ve done anyway, so raising money and doing this is a win win."

Clockhouse Christmas Lights

Let's travel down the road to Whiteley and admire Richard Scourfield's remarkable fundraising display.

This display was a popular choice for our readers, who described it as "amazing."

Daily Echo:

These fabulous lights are raising funds for Cornerstone Church of England Primary School, Wessex Cancer Trust and Mountbatten Hampshire, in memory of Mrs Aly Gibbons from Whiteley Primary School.

The magic doesn't stop there, as the lights aren't just lights!

The Leafy Lane display is also a light show, which includes classics from the movie Frozen and other festive songs, at 6pm to 9pm everyday and 4pm to 9pm Saturday and Sunday.

How fantastic is that?
