GREEN is the new black for Southampton shoppers this weekend as WestQuay continues its push on all things environmentally-friendly.
Pamper the Planet, which was launched at the shopping centre on Monday, will encourage people to consider their effect on the environment.
Energy advisers will be on hand to help shoppers reduce their carbon emissions and their energy bills, while plastic carrier bags can be exchanged for greener Bags for Life throughout the event.
Other Pamper the Planet activities from now until Sunday include a competition to win £250 worth of green goodies and recycling drives to raise money for local charities.
Shoppers will be encouraged to give away their old clothes, textiles and shoes to generate funds for Hampshire Air Ambulance or join the toy, game and teddy amnesty in aid of children's charity Honeypot.
There will be exibits to browse and find out how you can do your bit by switching your mobile phone tariff or investing in an eco-friendly car.
From today, younger eco-warriors can join Footprint Friends, an online forum where seven to 18-year-olds can discuss environmental issues with their peers.
The organisation will be at Pamper the Planet, encouraging young people to consider their impact on the environment - by painting one another's feet!
Pamper the Planet is on the lower concourse at WestQuay shopping centre, Southampton, until January 27.
