POLICE have released an image of the man they want to speak to following a stabbing in a Southampton take-away.

The attacker, believed to be an Asian man in his mid to late 30s, stabbed a Polish man after an argument in a take-away shop in St Marks Road.

At first the offender left the shop but returned shortly after brandishing the blade before stabbing the victim in the stomach.

Police say he had a few days stubble and has a distinctive right ear which has a mark or growth of skin about one inch long on the top of the ear.

He was wearing a smart black shirt and black trousers and when he returned to the kebab shop he was wearing a three-quarter length black material coat that reached his knees.

The attack happened at around 11.30pm on November 2 last year.

Anyone who recognises the description or may have information about the incident is asked to contact police on 0845 045 4545 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
