A MUM and her two daughters have opened a new hair salon which they hope will become a "home" for the community.
Lynne Marie-Groves, 54, has set up the business on Shirley High Street with daughters, Narcie, 23 and Dilys, 19.
She said: “We all feel we just want it to be a friendly place, we want to do as much as we can.
“We want to do things like book swaps so that people can come into the shop. I don’t want people to feel uncomfortable when they come in, I want them to feel that they can belong here.”
The trio opened Origin on June 28 after months of looking for new premises and preparing for the launch.
When they opened, they were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from friends and family.

Lynne said: “Opening that door the first day was just amazing and felt so good.
"As soon as we put the key in, it just felt like home and everybody was walking in and congratulating us and [telling us] how they love it and [how they are] proud of it.”
Before moving to Shirley High Street, Lynne owned another salon in Foundry Lane where she started working after leaving school.
Last year, when the unit was sold, Lynne began looking for a new home for her shop.
At the time, her daughter Narcie was working from home and the two started thinking of launching their own business together.
Narcie said: “I was working from home in the kitchen doing eyelashes and we spoke to one another and asked each other if we should do it.
“The last few months of preparation has been stressful but once the door opened it was a big relief.
“The first day was really good, and I love working with mum, we just laugh all day.”
The family business is looking for hairdressers, barbers and beauticians to join their team.
