WHEN Hayley Sheath almost died from a mystery virus her parents made her a promise on her hospital bed.

Two years ago the Bon Jovi mad youngster missed her idol's Southampton concert as she prepared for a heart transplant at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

So when the 14-year-old recovered her parents vowed to take her to see the American rock legend at his next venue.

However, after buying tickets for his concert at St Mary's stadium this June, the family was left heartbroken when their ticket suppliers Elite Ticket Shop went bankrupt.

Hayley's mum Selina paid £130 for two tickets but has been told by liquidators that they would not be getting tickets or a refund.

Selina, 40, a shop worker, of Criffe Avenue, Hamble, said: "When I told Hayley the bad news she was absolutely mortified. She's devastated and can't believe it's happened. I feel so sorry for her.

"I phoned the liquidators but they said there was no chance of getting my money back because I paid by cheque and not credit card."

Liquidators Valentine & Co confirmed more than 1,000 people have been affected by the bankruptcy at five concerts including Celine Dion and Cliff Richard.

Digusted' Selina added: "I'm absolutely disgusted that this has happened. I phoned St Mary's Stadium and they were the ones who advised me to buy the tickets from Elite Ticket Shop."

The Hamble Community Sports College pupil was left with an enlarged heart after being struck down with the virus and was so serious she was put at the top of Europe's transplant waiting list. She was found a heart seven days later and has since made a full recovery.

Another victim of the bankruptcy is Ringwood resident Valerie Garner who lost £154 after buying two tickets for Cliff Richard at Wembley in November.

Valerie, of King Fisher Way, said: "I'm very disappointed because we can't go. We were asked to pay by cheque but the liquidators have told us that we can't get a refund."

Southampton Football Club said the concert was nothing to do with them and people who have lost tickets should call promoters AEG LTD.

A spokesman from AEG LTD said Elite Ticket Shop was not an authorised ticket agent and customers should contact the liquidators or their credit cards.
