A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital with serious injuries following an accident in Chilworth this morning.
He was riding a black Suzuki motor cycle when he was in collision with a silver Ford Escort in Chilworth Road, close to the junction with Green Lane and the motorway bridge.
Paramedics treated the motorcyclist at the scene and he was taken to Southampton General Hospital following the accident that happened at 10.16am.
Police have closed a section of Chilworth Road at the junction with Castle Lane and Birch Road with traffic diversions in place.
The closure is set to be in place until around 2pm this afternoon.
