THE body that runs the New Forest National Park has been awarded an additional one-off payment to help it combat rising costs.
The New Forest National Park Authority (NPA) will receive an extra £440,00 to help it deliver a plan that focuses on issues including climate and nature.
It is part of an additional £4.4m that will be given to the country's ten national park authorities.
NPA chairman Gavin Parker said: "The New Forest National Park is a haven for wildlife, with many rare habitats and species.
"This one-off grant is vital to ensure we can continue projects with Forest partners to ensure people respect and care for the New Forest."
National Parks England added: "National parks account for almost 10 ten per cent of England’s land area and have ambitious plans to deliver on government targets for nature, climate and public access.
"We have been calling for the powers and resources needed to achieve this ambition."
