A GROUP of Year Six students have celebrated the end of term in style.

Pupils at Netley Abbey Junior School were given the surprise of a lifetime on the last day of term before they move onto secondary school after the summer break.

Eleven friends were greeted with a stretch limousine equipped with a PlayStation, drinks, lights, and music as they walked through the school gates for one last time - and they were given a ride around the local area.

Claire, whose son Charlie was one of the lucky few to enjoy the comforts of the 15-seater limo, told the Echo: “It’s the last day of term and the boys have all been coming to school together since they were five years old and now, they’re moving onto separate schools, so we thought it would be nice for them to get together with their mates and make some memories.

“You can see them in the limo, with their Prime energy drinks, music playing, there’s even a PlayStation in there somewhere – so it’s going to be very loud, but there’s no doubt they’ll have a fun time!

Daily Echo:

“They’ve all worked really hard, they’re a lovely, lovely bunch of boys and lots of people in the community say the same thing about how nice they are playing football together in the field. They’ve all worked hard during their SATS and come away with cracking results – so we just thought it would be a nice thing to do and the parents have organised it between us.”

The one-hour limo experience cost £390 in total, taking in the sights that Netley and the surrounding areas have to offer.

Claire added: “It was a total surprise, we started planning it about five weeks ago. We had a core group of people, we had just a few boys to begin with, and we said, ‘if you could do something really special with a few of your friends, who would it be?’ and they gave us extra names and we contacted all the mum’s from there – and it’s been brilliant.

“We thought about putting girls on there, so they’d have their girlfriends, but a few of them have broken up since we’ve had that conversation, so that’s why we left the girls out!”
