A LUXURY hotel has launched a new treatment in its award-winning spa to coincide with World Menopause Awareness Day.

Lime Wood's spa Herb House, in the New Forest, became the first and only hotel spa in England to host GROUND treatments in January.

The collection of natural aromatherapy balms and oils for the face and body was founded by wellness curator Peigin Crowley.

Much like the ethos at Lime Wood’s Herb House, which puts the natural surroundings at the centre and celebrates serenity, GROUND is dedicated to natural wellbeing and a holistic approach to wellness.

Its new treatment, the GROUND Wellbeing Cleansing Ritual, is a two-hour treatment that features its latest product, Cleanse Abdominal Body Oil, and focuses on the importance of gut health and is ideal for people who hold stress in their tummy.

It launched this month - and founder Peigin said it tied in nicely with World Menopause Awareness Day on October 18.

Peigin said: "The gut is the centre of everything. This is a place where people hold anxiety. Castor oil is amazing, when you apply it to the kidney, you feel lighter, more energised. It is a detox. It is a lovely oil to put on at night."

Peigin said her rituals can help with hormone fluctuations, regulating temperatures and strengthening the female system.

She said: "The objective of the treatment is to take your body into a relaxing state."

The aim of GROUND’s newest treatment is to gently stimulate the circulation of energy, lymph and fresh blood flow to the digestive organs through a full body aromatic scrub and a back and abdominal massage.

The fresh circulation helps bring the body’s core back to homeostasis and balance. Utilising the benefits of castor and cardamom, this warming treatment focuses on relaxing and soothing the abdomen physically, while stimulating the area to aid detoxification. Massage techniques are used to release stagnated energy and emotions from the abdominal area while acupressure points on the face and feet are worked on to further promote digestion and metabolism.

Lime Wood's spa director Tammy Kenyon said the partnership with GROUND had been going well this year.

She said: "It has been a fantastic year and we are looking forward to the launch of their treatment. We are proud to be one of the first spas in the UK to offer it."

The award-winning Herb House is dedicated to natural wellbeing and inspired by its forest surroundings, the three-story spa sits on the edge of an ancient forest.

Herb House works with their brand houses to create bespoke treatments from Bamford, VOYA, Sarah Chapman and GROUND Wellness.
