Several roads in Eastleigh will close this weekend as Remembrance services get underway.

The closures will be in force during the services and ceremonies held across the borough on Sunday.

Eastleigh's civic Service of Remembrance will take place on Sunday at the Eastleigh War Memorial on the Leigh Road Recreation Ground.

Residents are invited to join the Mayor of Eastleigh, Cllr Nick Couldrey, for the 11am service.

This is being hosted by the Eastleigh, Chandler’s Ford and District Branch of the Royal British Legion.

Wreath-laying will also take place at 11am on the anniversary of Armistice Day on Saturday at the Eastleigh War Memorial, when a two-minute silence will take place.

Further afield, a short civic wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the Cenotaph in the Military Cemetery at Royal Victoria Country Park at 3pm on Sunday.

This service requires no road closures.
