A yellow warning has been issued to Winchester as the city is set to be battered by heavy rain this weekend.

The Met Office warning will start from 3pm on Saturday as spells of rain, some heavy, will push east across most areas through Saturday and Sunday.

The warning, which affects all of England and Wales, is in place until 6pm on Sunday and there is likely to be some disruption.

The effects of a yellow warning could result in bus and train services being affected with journey times taking longer.

There could also be some spray and flooding on roads which is likely to make journey times longer.

Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely as well as some interruption to power supplies and other services.
