By-elections are due to be held in two council divisions after the resignation of two county councillors. 

Hampshire County Council will hold by-elections in Fareham Sarisbury and Upper Meon Valley on May 2. 

It follows the resignation of Cllr Hugh Lumby and Cllr Sean Woodward. 

The names of candidates nominated to stand in the elections will be published on April 8 and all those who want to vote must register by April 16.

On behalf of Carolyn Williamson, the County Council Chief Executive and Returning Officer, Fareham Borough Council will run the by-election in the division of Fareham Sarisbury.

Winchester City Council will run the by-election in the division of Meon Valley.

Applications for a postal vote must be made by 5pm on April 17 and applications to vote by proxy must be made by April 24.   

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on May 2.
