The COVID-19 spring vaccination campaign has kicked off in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, aiming to inoculate more than 211,000 vulnerable locals.

Starting from April 15, care home residents will be the first to receive the vaccine, whilst other eligible individuals can secure their vaccination slots through the National Booking System from April 22.

Eligibility is extended to those aged 75 and above, as well as adults and children over six months old who possess a weakened immune system.

Various modes of getting vaccinated are available - direct invites from GPs, independent booking through the National Booking System, phoning 119, or via the NHS App.

The campaign extends through to June 30 and has different vaccination points, including GP practices, pharmacies, and temporary pop-up and roving clinics.

By protecting the older population and those with weaker immunity, the spring campaign hopes to significantly mitigate the effects of COVID-19.

In case of doubts regarding eligibility or assistance needed in booking an appointment, the NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight COVID Vaccination Helpline team can be reached via 0300 561 0018.

With this campaign, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are taking strides towards immunising their populations against the virus, focusing on the most vulnerable amongst their residents.
