Four people have been arrested after police launched a campaign to trace Hampshire’s most wanted.

Earlier this week, police launched a partnership with charity Crimestoppers to show a gallery of 'most wanted' faces.

All 29 of those included from around the county have been charged with at least one offence and have failed to appear in court, according to the force.

They included ten people from Southampton and the immediate surrounding area.

Officers have now arrested the following people, who have now appeared at court:

  • Stephen McCarthy appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court this morning, having been arrested in Colby Street, Southampton, yesterday afternoon (April 18).
  • Karl Avellino appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court yesterday morning (April 18), having been arrested in The Swan Centre, Eastleigh, just over an hour earlier.
  • Paul Rookes appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court this morning, he was arrested on Monday (April 15) in Meggeson Avenue, Southampton.
  • Anisa Caynab appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court yesterday morning (April 18), after she was arrested in Southern Road, Southampton, on Wednesday evening (April 17).

The following people remain at large:

  • Stephen McCarthy: He was due to attend Southampton Magistrates' Court on January 5, this year, in relation to an allegation of failing to comply with the requirements of post-custodial supervision.
  • Karl Avellino: He was charged with assault with intent to resist arrest, in relation to an incident alleged to have occurred on January 31, this year.
  • Stuart Rendall: He was due to attend Southampton Crown Court on March 16, 2020, in relation to an alleged breach of a community order.
  • Max Amey: He was charged with possession of a controlled drug of class A - cocaine, after being arrested on November 30, 2022.
  • David Koziej: He was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled drug of class B - amphetamines and cannabis, and using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place
  • Paul Rookes: He was charged with driving while disqualified, following an alleged collision in Townhill Way, Southampton, on November 28, last year.
  • Anisa Caynab: She was charged with possession of a controlled drug of class B - cannabis, after being stopped in Northam Road, Southampton, on May 17, last year.
  • Spyridon Papathanasiou: He was due to appear at Harrogate Magistrates' Court on February 16, having been charged with the alleged possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A - cocaine.
  • Karol Dabrowski: He was charged with harassment without violence after allegedly attending the address of a former partner on a number of occasions between June 28 and July 5, last year, in Southampton.
