The Southampton roads with the most congestion last year have been revealed.

When driving, being stuck in some kind of traffic feels like a regular occurrence due to the sheer amount of road works going on.

Data from The Online Marketing Surgery agency and national truck dealer Cromwell Trucks shows how many seconds drivers were held up per mile on average across a variety of roads.

This data is taken from 2023, so does not include the impact of the city centre ring road roadworks and the M27 resurfacing near Hedge End.

But it does shed some light on the most consistently-delayed roads in the area.

Key findings:

The A3035, Highfield Lane, is the most delayed local A road in Southampton and the whole of Hampshire with a vehicle being held up by 181 seconds per mile.

It was also revealed in the report that seven of the 10 most delayed local A roads in Hampshire last year are in Southampton.
