Hampshire police closed the M27 motorway in both directions during the early hours of this morning after an 'incident'.
National Highways alerted drivers that Hampshire police were managing an incident on the M27 motorway at around 2.25am today, May 2.
The highways authority said that the closure had been put in place between junction 5, Southampton Airport and junction 7, Hedge End.

It is understood that the motorway was reopened at around 5.44am today.
