A TALENTED teenaged photographer has scooped a top international photography award.
Catriona Parfitt, from Swanwick, has won the Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year prize for her dramatic photograph of a lion attempting to attack a giraffe, which she took on a family holiday in Namibia.
The 15-year-old, who is a student at Brookfield Community School in Sarisbury Green, picked up her award at a ceremony in London's Natural History Museum.
She beat off thousands of other budding photographers from 82 countries to take home the award.
Fellow Hampshire teenager Julian Das, from Otterbourne, also won a highly commended from the judges for his shot of a lion peering between the branches of a tree.
The 15-year-old took the photo while on safari in Botswana.
