HE IS the star of TV and the West End while she is as much a hero in the eyes of her family.

Hampshire mum Joanna Mortimore met her TV heart throb John Barrowman at the Slimming World Woman of the Year Awards.

Joanna, 38, is the Southampton area manager for the weight loss firm and started as a member after her dad died due to his excessive weight.

The Regent’s Park resident, who lost around two and half stone, said: “I wish I knew then what I know now, it’s had such a positive effect on me and my family.”

The mum of three’s dreams came true when she was able to meet Barrowman and have her picture taken with him and give him a big hug, pictured.

The star has appeared on TV shows such as Torchwood and was a judge on talent shows Any Dream Will Do and How to Solve a Problem like Maria.

Sorry Barrowman, you are great and I appreciated your enthusiasm but unfortunately you mean 'money' to some Agency, if not Lloyd Webber. Keep going, you are part of a gigantic money making spin. But you must always do your best - we, the public, even the humble computer person - we all do our best.

Is it true Mr Barrowman was once a boxer? I do believe he often got beat around the ring, so he gave it up to be a actor!
