Southampton UFO enthusiast baffled by lights floating above the skyline

Daily Echo: An artist's impression of an alien craft An artist's impression of an alien craft

IT’S the latest in a long line of extraterrestrial activity across Hampshire.

Two new videos have surfaced on the Internet of unidentified mystery objects hovering above the Southampton skyline.

It is the latest in a long line of sightings to suggest that extra terrestrial life is out there and interested in Hampshire.

The bright lights were shot from a house in Hedge End by a UFO enthusiast who wished to remain anonymous. He said: “I’m still having trouble trying to work out what they are myself, they are in a fixed position to start and then you clearly see the two lights moving apart.”

The first of the two videos by the mystery enthusiast shows a bright light floating high above the sky, which appears to flash brightly toward the camera.

The second of the videos, filmed only on Wednesday of this week, shows two objects flashing close by to each other before one disappears into the night sky.

The new sightings are just two of a number of possible UFO’s to be reported in Hampshire in the last 12 months.

The sightings come seven months after the government released papers dubbed the x-files, noting 40 mysterious objects or UFOs spotted in Hampshire over the last ten years.

One suggestion made to me was that it was a satellite eye in the sky watching illegal happenings over Soton!

No, these are planes. I watched a static object like this for nearly a minute that appeared to be over SOuthampton Water and it was a plane possibly from Hurn flying straight towards me and climbing. You can't tell how far off an object is on a cold clear night nor what the velocity is, so our brain guesses based on what it thinks it is seeing - then when the object behaves differently - it seems like the object has performed a superhuman trick. It is simply that the object wasn't where your brain assumed it was. In the video There is even the telltale strobe flash of winglights in the close ups on this one. Of course it could be a UFO but why would a UFO need landing lights?

Andy, L/Heath - "why would a UFO need landing lights?" Maybe intergalactic flying regulations insist on them when visiting backward planets like ours?
Or maybe they're a brilliant camouflage to make us think they're not UFO's at all, just planes? - in which case, UFO's, disguised as planes, pass over my house about 100 times a day!

Miles, you are correct. I was once abducted and taken by one of these craft to a cold place full of intoxicated abd aggessive beings. I could barely understand their strange language but i remember that they called their world 'Glasgee'

Last year neighbours were watching a horse shoe arc of lights some moved slowly and the others moved forward taking it in turns to move around the arc. They appeared faint then strongly moved again - this went on for an hour. We were all called out to look at this and it amused us, but then in this day and age 'strobe' lights were being invented. We want to hear of something exciting and it was a great mid evening enjoyment - it was a neighbour get together. There is a lot of cleaver bods able to fool us but not all the time.

I had a similar experience, UFO was crowded with beautiful young people with glazed look in their eyes, we were taken to a place called Ibeeeeeeeza.
Don't remember a lot more except other aliens in Ibeeeeeeeza stole all my money and blanked 2 weeks of my life from my memory!

Thank goodness...someone else who is brave enough to stand up and be counted despite the fear of ridicule, thank you Miles.
You have given me the confidence to come clean once and for all on this subject.
Here goes.... not only did i once go to 'Glasgee' but i KNOW that many 'Glassgeeans' are living amongst us!! I have met them several times over the years (generally in pubs) and the ones who have lived here long enough can just about be understood. They are a strange race who though claim to dislike us greatly and that 'home' is far better than here in every way...they never seem to actually move back to the motherland!

The first one looks like Mercury, which is usually visable at that angle in the sky. It has been confused with ufos before, or even stars due its proximity to the sun.

The last lot look like satellites. They could also be space debris burning up as it re-enters our atmosphere. Quite a common phenomenon and also confused with ufos.

Sadly I dont beleive in ufos in this way. I would think it would be a bit of a waste of effort to travel all those light years just to visit and nothing else.

More likely that if we do encounter visitation from another world then it could well be hostile. The earth is a great resource for oil, nuclear provisions and water.

Erm, that's fairly obvious.

The big thing that says "Play" or the link that says "Play Video" are both clues as to the location of the video.

LOL - it'd be ironic if after 1000's of years aliens do arrive to steal our "great resources" only to find we've squandered all the oil, the water is too mixed with sewage to be potable and our nuclear plants have poisoned everything else.
