PART of Southampton city centre was sealed off this afternoon after a man was found shot in the head.
A major police investigation was launched but police now believe that the man shot himself. Officers taped off the length of Rockstone Place after while major crime detectives and forensic officers moved in.
It is understood a member of the public found the body on a bench in a park area. A police spokesman confirmed that the body of a 65 year old man had been found at Rockstone Place and that his death was not thought to be suspicious.

The man has not been identified but is thought to have lived close to the scene of the shooting. Uniformed officers were manning a cordon around the area where the shooting took place.
