THE aftermath of a fatal stabbing at a Southampton house party was like something “you see in a horror movie”, a court heard.

Witness Mark Carty said blood was everywhere following the stabbing of Neil “Bones” Hampson at a 12th-floor flat in Weston.

He was giving evidence at the trial of Tony Wilkinson, who has been charged with murder at Havre Towers in the early hours of November 3, 2007.

Winchester Crown Court was told that Mr Carty had gone back to the flat of Wilkinson’s short-term girlfriend Isla Jarvis after a boat party at Ocean Village.

He said he was sitting on the kitchen floor when Wilkinson and Mr Hampson moved into the hallway and began fighting.

“I heard a glass or a picture smash,” said Mr Carty. “I got up and Neil came walking towards me, there was lots of blood everywhere, he was covered in it.

“There was a lot on the floor – in the kitchen it was just coming off him. He looked as if he was fading, it was a bit of a stagger. Neil ended up where I was sat on the floor.”

Asked if he had ever seen a scene like it, he said: “Never, it’s the sort of thing you see in a horror movie.” He added: “I was in shock and panicked, I did not know what to think.

“I ran out of the flat. Kane Lendon and I ran down the stairs to go after him [Wilkinson]. There was a trail of blood on the stairs. We got to the bottom but there was no-one to be seen.

“After that I did not want to go back to the address, I’d had a few lines of cocaine and I was scared. I did not want to be around the police with drugs.”

Wilkinson, of Merrow Avenue, Poole, denies murdering Mr Hampson, of Magnolia Road, Merry Oak. Proceeding
