Gran’s bridge plunge death was suicide
A HAMPSHIRE grandmother who jumped to her death from the Itchen Bridge when suffering severe stomach pain was found to have no medical condition, an inquest heard.
Kathryn Donohoe left her family a note as she took her own life detailing how she loved them all and was sorry for taking her own life.
Southampton Coroner's Court heard how Kathryn, who lived at Jarvis Fields, Bursledon, had started to suffer from a bad stomach, from which she was in severe pain.
An eyewitness Rachel Gawler noted how 53-year-old Mrs Donohoe had passed her on the bridge before climbing on to the side and falling off.
Southampton Coroner Keith Wiseman recorded a suicide verdict.
