AMAZING! Nearly 20 years after leaving school with just a couple of GCSEs, Scott Mills returned to Hampshire to pick up a degree from Southampton Solent University.

Watched by his proud family, the DJ, “off of” Radio 1, joined graduating students at Southampton Guildhall to be presented with his honorary doctor of arts.

Scott, 35, who went to Crestwood School in Eastleigh before becoming the youngest commercial radio presenter when he landed a slot on Power FM at the age of 16, received the award for his services to broadcasting.

“It’s always good to be back in Southampton, and my family are just so pleased, as I am, so it’s been a great day,” he said.

“It feels strange, but it’s a huge honour. But if it’s good enough for Craig David, it’s good enough for me.”
