A SOUTHAMPTON woman has been rescued from her flat after setting fire to her living room curtains.
Fire crews from Redbridge were called to the first floor home in Chilton Green after the fire broke out around 8.30pm on Saturday night.
The 24-year-old woman, who was alone in the flat, was pulled out of her home by fire fighters who quickly put out the flames which caused damage to the curtains, wall and carpet of the room.
The resident was given oxygen by ambulance crews but was uninjured by the incident.
It is believed the fire was started accidentally from a cigarette the resident was smoking.
