TOGETHER they helped to spark chain reactions that saw an incredible £250,000 raised for good causes across Hampshire.
Mayors and mayoresses from across the county came together to celebrate the charitable work done in their name during their terms of office.
During the past year, the mayoral charities in borough, district and city authorities collected more than £250,000, which has been handed out to more than 30 organisations.
Naomi House, Macmillan Cancer Support, Mountbatten Hospices and the Scout Association are among the charities to have benefited from the fundraising of the 14 civic heads, with some – including the mayors of Winchester, Eastleigh and Gosport – collecting more than £30,000 each.
