Charity concert in tribute to Kate A CHARITY concert will be held in Southampton on Saturday in aid of a former Southampton woman who was killed in Spain.
The event at St Mary’s Church will raise money for the Kate Stokes Memorial Trust set up in tribute to the 35-year-old, who froze to death on a hiking expedition in February 2006.
Her and her partner, Rob Rippengal, who also died, were caught in a sudden snowstorm in the Picos de Europa Mountains in Cantabria.
Kate, pictured, worked for the BP Conservation Project and helped a huge number of young conservationists gain practical experience.
The event starts at 7.30pm. Tickets, which cost £6 for adults or £4 concessions, can be bought on the door or by calling 023 8052 8193.
