DAWN raids were carried out across the south this morning as a major operation to rid Southampton’s streets of drug pushers was launched.
Teams of police officers were involved in the operation targeting dealers of heroin and crack cocaine within the city.
Addresses in Southampton, London and Dorset were all busted by officers from the priority crime unit under the latest phase of Operation Phoenix – Hampshire’s war on drugs.
The crackdown follows months of intelligence work by undercover police and is aiming to remove dealers travelling into the city from across the country.
The dealers are known to be pocketing thousands of pounds every day by selling in a number of locations across the city.
