POLICE are on the trial of goat thieves after two family pets were stolen from a Hampshire small holding.
The two brown Nigerian Pygmy goats were stolen from land on Blackhorse Lane, Shedfield.
PC Jon Radcliffe, Countryside and Wildlife Crime officer, said: "These animals are of little monetary value but are family pets and the owners have been left very upset by this incident.
"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, or anyone who knows of where the animals currently are, to get in touch with as at the earliest opportunity.
"If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of these animals, that are family pets, they should contact the police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
The animals were taken some time between 3pm on Friday, November 13 and 4pm on Monday, November 16 Anyone who has any information about this incident or would like to report any suspicious activity should contact PC Radcliffe at Meon Valley police station in Bishops Waltham on 0845 045 45 45.
