POLICE have renewed their appeal for witnesses after a man fell from a moving car in Eastleigh.

The 32-year-old man from Shirley, is in a critical but stable condition in the neurological unit of Southampton General Hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Around 12.30am on Saturday morning, the man was a rear seat passenger in a green Vauxhall Astra, which was travelling along Stoneham Way from Eastleigh towards junction five of the M27.

The man fell into the road, but police are hoping someone will be able to tell them what happened.

The car was driven by a 39-year-old woman from Freemantle, Southampton. She was not arrested and is being treated as a witness.

Police need to hear from anyone who saw the incident or who stopped after the incident. At least one car stopped, but left the scene before officers arrived at the scene.
