SKATEBOARDERS, BMX riders and rollerbladers will be provided with a new arena in which to practise their gravity-defying feats.
A £30,000 skatepark at Normandy Way, Marchwood, will boast several different ramps and “street scene” features such as handrails and kerbstones that are popular with skaters.
Funding for the scheme has come from the parish council, the Peter Barker-Mills Memorial Charity and the Veolia Environmental Trust.
Due to open in April next year, the facility will replace an existing skatepark that is in a poor state of repair.
