A NEW community orchard is being created in the Memorial Park, Romsey this weekend. The orchard will consist of seven fruit trees, a mixture of damsons and greengages, donated by the Churches of Romsey.
It has come about as a partnership between Transition Town Romsey Local Food Group, Test Valley Borough Council, The Friends of the Memorial Park and The Association of Romsey Churches.
The orchard planting will take place on Saturday from 12.30pm in the Memorial Park. The official planting will be followed by an Orchard Day celebration in the URC church hall from 1.30pm.
