X FACTOR rejects John and Edward Grimes are still causing controversy. The boys have dumped a night in Southampton in favour of a big money TV offer.

The Grimes twins or Jedward as they became known, became an overnight sensation on the ITV talent contest before their exit last weekend, had been due to perform at the Oceana nightclub in Leisure World tomorrow night.

But the date has been postponed after an appearance on Irish TV’s Late Late Show Christmas Special proved a more tantalising prospect.

Former X Factor finalist Austin Drage will take to the stage on Friday instead.

Now Jedward are due to appear at Oceana date on Thursday December 17.

The Irish brothers, who were mentored by Louis Walsh, are said to have been inundated with offers after being voted off the X Factor.

The 18-year-olds from Dublin divided the nation during their appearances on the show, which included a bizarre rendition of the Ghostbusters theme and a montage of Wham favourites I’m Your Man and Wham Rap.

They have been in talks with various TV, music and theatre producers and are even said to be considering appearances in other reality TV shows, including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here and Dancing on Ice.

Jedward are also due to appear at Chicago Rock Café in Fareham on Sunday December 6.
