YOUNGSTERS were doing cartwheels of joy thanks to the Daily Echo.
International cheerleading champions The Liberty Pride Cheerleaders, from Southampton, celebrated a £700 cash boost that will help the award-winning team to compete for the world title in America next year.
We teamed up with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation to give away cash to community groups and sports teams in our Great £40,000 Community Cash Giveaway.
The energetic group, made up of more than 75 members aged between six and 32, will use the money to pay for the hire of the hall where they train each week, at the Oasis Lower School Building.
Team coach Sara Al-Rashed, who started the group six years ago, said: “We are so grateful for this grant because the money we save on the hall hire can all go towards our trip to the World Championships in Disneyland.”
