CAMPAIGNERS for a cleaner planet will descend on the Southampton Civic Centre for a climate change rally today.
Speakers from Southampton and Eastleigh Friends of the Earth and Hampshire Greenpeace will voice their concerns about the environment.
The rally has been organised to coincide with the United Nations Climate Change conference in Copenhagen this week.
Chris Bluemel, a Hampshire parliamentary candidate for the Green Party, who set up the rally, said: “Taking action to tackle climate change would have so many added benefits.
“We can build a more stable economy, cut our business costs, give everyone warmer homes, drastically improve public transport, and in the process create over a million jobs by taking the action needed to tackle climate change.”
